Frequently Asked Questions
At the Beauty Doctors we use three brands of skin boosters. They all contain hylauronic acid and are excellent at improving hydration and brightness. However, each one has a special characteristic that allows us to tailor your treatment to your specific skin need:
Juvederm Volite: is excellent for younger skins that require hydration only giving you a glowing complexion
Teoxane Redensity 1: contains hylauronic acid and a cocktail of vitamins and minerals that nourish the skin and is particularly good at treating crepey older skins on the face, neck and decollete
Xela Rederm: contains succinic acid which encourages cell turnover and is especially good treating pigmentation. I t comes in tree densities so is also excellent at treating individual fine lines or deeper lines around the mouth without adding bulk
At consultation we can help guide you to the best option for your skin concern
Juvederm Volite is part of the Vycross range that provides longer lasting results from just one treatment so the results will last 6-9 months when another can be done to maintain results
Redensity and Rederm need a course of 3 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart to see optimal effect followed by a top up every 6 months to maintain results.
The most common risks are associated with a needle penetrating the skin, so redness, bruising, pain, swelling and infection. There are some other much more rare side effects that will be discussed during the Consultation
